SFO is Hot
Finally! Someone put WiFi coverage in to SFO, and lucky me, it’s T-Mobile, my favorite a la carte wireless data provider (GSM/GPRS/WiFI). Looks like the entire airport is hot, but not quite extensive enough to reach in to the planes sitting at the gates. ![]()
T-Mobile ROCKS at SFO! The other week, I stopped by the Intel Centrino pavilion in Terminal 3. They were handing out free day passes. I used their free service from their laptops that were demonstrated there. I noticed that their coverage is on BOTH 802.11b (2.4) and 802.11a (5.2) and is blazingly fast!!!
However, SFO has no coverage yet in Terminal 2 (The old international terminal which is being remodeled), in United Express Terminal, and in the rental car garage. I was told by the Intel folks that these areas would get coverage before summer ‘04.
I used the free day pass at a Kinko’s… and to my surprise it was good there too.
